UltraClear Marine Epoxy Instructions
Please Note: You should always wear protective glasses and gloves when working with this material. Working in a well ventilated area is also recommended when using this product. This epoxy is not for use over oil based paints, polyurethanes, or stains.
Preparation: Make sure all of the surface areas are clean and free of any contaminants. They should be dry and sanded smooth for ideal bonding conditions. Make sure to clean off all sanding dust once finished. Keep room temperatures between 60 - 80F degrees with humidity under 85% for optimal working conditions.
Mixing Procedure: Mix the Hardener and Resin at the specified mixing ratios. Mix with stir stick for 1 to 3 minutes until mixture is fully blended without strands of unmixed material remaining. Be sure to thoroughly scrape the bottom and sides of container to ensure all product is mixed completely. Always use clean and dry tools when mixing epoxy. Marine Epoxy temperatures should not be below 60°F when mixing.

UltraClear Marine Epoxy Comes with 1 Resin & 3 options for Hardener.
Slow & Fast Hardener are for structural applications.
- 5:1 mix ratio by Volume
Clear Hardener is for a clear top coat once the structural lamination is complete.
- 3:1 mix ratio by Volume
Traditional Marine Resin:
- Use with any of the 3 hardeners
- Use Slow or Fast Hardener for structural applications
- Use Clear Hardener for an UltraClear finish once the structure is complete
- Can be used as a bonding agent for fiberglass, wood, marine reinforcement fabrics, bare steel and lead.
- Self leveling for coating and laminating with a smooth finish
- Can be applied with a brush, roller, spreader, syringe, or poured directly onto wood, fiberglass, or any of the above mentioned structural building materials
Slow Marine Hardener:
- Ideal choice for larger lamination builds / projects, and applications requiring more working time and for use in warmer climates.
- Recommended for use above 80F degrees.
- Designed for consistent results when used on lamination wooden FRP construction on boat hulls or other structural projects
- Used in a 5:1 mixing ratio with Traditional Marine Resin
- Pot life @ 80°F: 30 minutes (Slow Hardener)
- Set time @ 80°F (thin film): 10 hours
- Cure time @ 80°F (thin film): 1 to 4 days
- Hardener Color: Clear/Light Amber
Fast Marine Hardener:
- Ideal choice for applications requiring quicker working times and for use in cooler climates.
- Recommended for use between 60-70F degrees.
- Small to medium sized projects and structural applications
- Used in a 5:1 mixing ratio with the Traditional Marine Resin
- Pot life @ 70°F: 12 minutes (Fast Hardener)
- Set time @ 70°F (thin film): 6 hours
- Cure time @ 70°F (thin film): 1 to 4 days
- Hardener Color: Dark Amber
Clear Marine Hardener:
- Ideal finish of choice for an UltraClear finish
- Use over the Slow or Fast Hardener once your project is completed for a clear finish
- Not designed for structural applications
- Used in a 3:1 Mixing Ration with the Traditional Marine Resin
- Set time @ 80°F (thin film): 10 hours
- Cure time @ 80°F (thin film): 1 to 4 days
- Hardener Color: Clear
