The epoxy in my mixing container is hot and hardening too quickly, what happened?

This generally happens if you waited too long to pour the epoxy, or if you put the resin component into the container before the hardener component.

Waiting too long to pour allows the epoxy to start curing while in the container. The heat gets trapped and doesn't have enough room to disperse, so it rapidly hardens right inside the container.
