Can you buff or polish epoxy surfaces?

Buffing or polish epoxy can be difficult. We don't recommend it for people without a lot of experience.

A very skilled person with advanced proficiency in polishing techniques can use a 3M product called “Finesse-it 2”. This is a high gloss polishing compound which can remove scratches.

However, it's easy to make a mistake if you're not very familiar with the polishing product and application methods. We've seen people use too high a speed to polish and cause the epoxy to smear or too low a speed, causing the epoxy to become cloudy.

If you decide to take the chance and attempt this, we suggest testing it first. Polishing is something that takes skill and experience to achieve good results.

Anything that you do is done at your own risk.

Alternatively, after years of use and interaction with the epoxy surface, you can lightly sand the surface and pour a new coat of epoxy, and it will look brand new again.
