What Kind of UltraClear Epoxy Should I Choose?
Choosing the right epoxy depends on the type of project you are working on. UltraClear offers three main epoxy systems: Bar & Table Top Epoxy, Art & Craft Epoxy, and Deep Pour Epoxy. Each one is designed for a specific type of use.
The main difference comes down to project type, pour thickness, working time, clarity, and durability.
Bar & Table Top Epoxy:
UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy is our strongest and most durable epoxy system. It is designed for surfaces that need a tough, long-lasting, glass-like finish.
This epoxy self-levels to 1/8" thick, making it ideal for coating flat surfaces that will be used regularly. Once cured, it provides excellent scratch resistance, durability, and a high-gloss finish.
Bar & Table Top Epoxy is the best choice for:
Bar tops
Table tops
Countertops
Desktops
Wood surfaces
High-traffic or frequently used surfaces
Final protective top coats
If your project needs a strong, durable finish for everyday use, Bar & Table Top Epoxy is usually the best option.
Art & Craft Epoxy:
UltraClear Art & Craft Epoxy is designed for artists, crafters, and decorative projects where clarity, UV resistance, and working time are especially important.
This epoxy can be poured in either 1/8" or 1/4" layers and has an extended working time of approximately 30-40 minutes. This gives you more time to work with pigments, adjust designs, and perfect small details.
Art & Craft Epoxy is the best choice for:
Resin art
Craft projects
Pigment work
White or light-colored artwork
Decorative coatings
Projects requiring more working time
If your project is focused on artwork, color, creativity, or clarity over white backgrounds, Art & Craft Epoxy is the better choice.
Deep Pour Epoxy:
UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy is designed for thicker pours that require more depth than a standard surface coating.
Deep Pour Epoxy should only be used for pours that are at least 1/4" thick. It can be poured up to 1" deep in a single pour and can be built up in layers for deeper projects.
Deep Pour Epoxy is the best choice for:
Wood voids
Cracks or gaps
Deep molds
Casting projects
Embedded objects
River-style pours
Projects requiring pours of 1/4" or thicker
Deep Pour Epoxy is made for depth, not as a thin coating or final protective surface. If it will be part of a table, bar, countertop, or other usable surface, it should be finished with Bar & Table Top Epoxy as the final top coat.
